What is the Free Market of Energy?

The Free Market of Energy, also known in Brazil as ACL for its initials, emerged aiming to stimulate free competition and increase the number of energy generators that produce energy by using renewable sources, such as small hydroelectric, solar, wind or biomass plants. It is an alternative to the most well know energy market, called Regulated Market or ACR, for its initials in Portuguese, where consumers pay their energy directly to the distributor in the region, being subject to its rates and periodic corrections. The free market is booming in Brazil nowadays and 34% of all energy sold in the country is already contracted inside the free environment.

As we are a 100% independent company, we are free to negotiate and talk with all suppliers and merchants in the market. Therefore, we can guarantee that the solution presented to our clients is always the best possible, both in terms of security and economy.

Who can be Free?

Consumption units with a contracted power demand equal to or greater than 2,000 kW

Can contract energy from any source

Consumption units with contracted power demand between 500 kW and 2,000 kW

They should contract energy only from incentivated sources

If a potential consumer does not have enough contracted demand to meet the ACL (Free Contracting Environment) prerequisites, there are still two possibilities for migration:

A. Union of consumption units with the same CNPJ root in the same contrat, summing 500 KW

B. Union of consumption units located in a contiguous area (without separation by public roads), also summing at least 500 KW

How will you save?

Contract Flexibility

Seasonality allows consumers to specify the amount of energy to be purchased by month, according to its business needs, without any increase in the energy costs.

The Monthly Flexibility allows consumers to have a margin of safety foreseen in the contract if months’s consumption is greater or less than expected, also without any increase in costs.
