Understanding Corporate Sustainability

Sustainability principles apply to any business, regardless of size. For a company to be qualifyied as sustainable, it must be:

Ecologically correct

Economically viable

Socially Fair

Culturally Diverse

Corporate Sustainability is the union of sociocultural, economic and environmental practices bonded by a solid and transparent governance. Such a union is now know as ESG practices (Environmental, Social and Governance).

However, it is not possible to talk about corporate sustainability without first going through the concept of Sustainable Development. According to the UN (United Nations Organization), developing in a sustainable way means using natural resources strategically and intelligently, thus guaranteeing the autonomy of future generations.

In line with this concept, the UN itself launched in 2015 an agenda of 17 global goals for 2030. With the backing of the planet’s main leaders, this agenda was called the SDG, or Sustainable Development Goals, found in the video above.

Nevertheless, this does not mean that to have sustainable attitudes, your company must act on the 17 objectives. In fact, it is necessary to adapt the fundamentals of sustainability to the particularities of your business.

Not sure where to start? It is easy. Let’s start with the things we can measure, that is, calculate your company carbon footprint, which is nothing more than the measure the impact that your operations leave on the environment.

But we don’t stop there: after measuring, you have to take action. For this reason, we deliver a tailored solution, in which we analyze the most damaging activities and processes in your value chain and prepare a priority mitigation action plan.

After implementing the plan, it is time to revolutionize: we will develop an endomarketing, B2B and/or B2C marketing strategy so that your employees and customer can become your brand ambassadors once and for all. The famous branding process.

From now on, your company will enter the world of sustainability once and for all, including access to seals and certificates, such as the GHG Protocol (Greenhouse Gas Protocol), accepted as a gateway to join sustainability indexes in many countries of the planet. And more: in the most developed countries, this protocol is already mandatory for some industrial activities. In other words, your business will be ahead of its time, ready for the regulatory changes to come.

That is what Tailor Made Sustainability is all about: sustainable and genuine development, generating value for the brand, its employees and its customers.

Why join GHGP?

The GHGP (Greenhouse Gas Protocol) aims to promote the transition from the Brazilian economy to a low carbon economy. On average, 138 companies already issue the report annually in the country.
